When divided according to trades, Beijing??s food industry has formed many ?¡ãtrade blocks?¡À, mainly concentrated on such trades as beer, milk products, vegetable and fruit juice, and soda drinks. And Beijing has come to be one of the country??s most important bases with regard to beer and vegetable and fruit juice processing. The city has roughly formed a food production pattern with beverage production as the mainstay. Beverage production (including wine brewing) now takes a certain market share in the whole national market.

c. Layout
Beijing??s food industry can be basically divided into two parts: ?¡ãLeading district in the Northeast?¡À as represented by Huairou and Shunyi, and ?¡ãNewly rising district in the Southern suburbs?¡À as represented by Daxing and Tongzhou. The food industry output value produced by these two districts accounts for 70 percent of the city??s total.

These enterprises are also greatly influenced by the cultural environment of its surrounding areas. They mainly converge in Fengtai District in the South of Beijing, Chaoyang District in the East of Beijing and Xuanwu District within the old town.
